- 'Dulais Valley' (working title) directed by Roger Tiley
- Release date : 2019
A 90 minute factual documentary film which will be made throughout 2018. Directed by documentary photographer, Roger Tiley, the narrative will depict contemporary life in the Dulais Valley, South Wales. It will creatively call upon the colourful history of the area to contextualise the lives of the main characters portrayed.
The communities of Onllywn and Banwen have seen many changes over past decades, with pits closing and respective communities having to adapt. The valley is still a source of energy through wind turbines becoming the feature of the undulating topography, whilst the mining works fade into the geography.
Much of the film will centre around Onllwyn Miners' Welfare Hall. Portrayed recently in the film 'Pride', the welfare is the centre of numerous community activities. It has been a financial challenge to keep the hall active and community involvement is paramount in keeping the hall open.
Preparatory filming and stills shots have began in order to follow story lines.
