Born in the South Wales valleys in 1960, I began my professional career in 1978, working as an industrial photographer. In 1982, I studied Documentary Photogrpahy under the guidance of Magnum photographer, David Hurn. Since 1984, I've worked in the media and in photographic education.

Overview
'Alzheimer’s Society working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future'. I shall walk 100 miles solo, across the South Wales valleys to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. The valleys are very close to my heart. Not just being a native, born and bread in the valleys; I have spend most of my photographic career documenting the people and places, capturing life changing events through the decades. During the 1980s, whilst working for the national media, I captured in detail mining communities before, during and after the year-long miners' strike. Some 40 years on, I shall be walking through many of the communities that mean so much to me.

22.5.2024 - It looks like I shall begin my solo walk with one UK government in power, and finishing with another! History in the making. 20.06.2024 - just over a week to go before my Walk Across the Valleys.
